UK Research and Innovation
Rolls-Royce SMR is supported by £210million grant funding from UKRI - the largest public funder of research and innovation in the UK, with a budget of over £8billion - to further develop SMR design and take it through the regulatory processes to assess suitability of potential deployment in the UK. The grant is administered by SICE (Science and Innovation for Climate and Energy) and is being overseen by the IPA (Infrastructure and Projects Authority).
