Not just different. Designed for delivery

The case for nuclear has never been stronger, and the Rolls-Royce SMR has been specifically designed to avoid the difficulties that have impacted other ‘large-scale’ nuclear projects over recent years.

Rolls-Royce SMR is entirely focused on reducing project risk, increasing delivery certainty and is committed to developing a solution which will provide energy quickly and affordably to a wide variety of global locations.

This unique ‘factory-built’ approach means that approximately 90% of the plant will be factory fabricated, tested and delivered to site as modules, where they will be assembled and commissioned by the Rolls-Royce SMR team under an Engineering, Manufacture, Assembly (EMA) contract.

Offering a complete nuclear power station as a manufactured product delivers the cost and risk reductions and quality improvements associated with factory fabrication, while simultaneously removing the expense, lead-time and risk associated with developing a new, inexperienced supply chain and EPC contractor team for each new plant constructed.
