Inclusion Networks at Rolls-Royce SMR
An important element of any inclusive organisation is engaging with under-represented employees to help remove some of the barriers that they may face and to create a truly inclusive culture. Inclusion Networks are crucial in helping to do this. Employee-led, they connect, engage and support their members, and ensure more people know that Rolls-Royce SMR is for them. They also help educate others on the issues faced by their community and teach us all how to become better allies as we aim to trailblaze inclusion in our sector.
Meet our Inclusion Networks
Ability aims to empower those with specific needs in the workplace. We welcome those with disabilities (including long-term mental health conditions), neurodiversity and caring responsibilities. We are also a network for our allies, who are seeking ways to better support our community and who see the value that these differences bring. Our vision is to embrace diversity to utilise difference for the benefit of all, and to have a workplace shaped to meet the needs of all our remarkable people.
Beta is for graduates, apprentices and other early career employees, and for those that wish to support younger employees in their careers. Our aim is to ensure Rolls-Royce SMR is fully welcoming and inclusive for those still early in their careers by educating our people on how they can better support early career colleagues; connecting and supporting younger colleagues; collaborating with colleagues of all ages to address age-related workplace issues; providing unique insights to help shape a more inclusive way of working; and by being a voice into the business to ensure representation of our members.
Genie is for gender inclusion and equity in the workplace. We welcome everyone, regardless of gender, who shares our aim of making Rolls-Royce SMR fully inclusive for all. We deliver gender inclusion and equity and embed these values into the core of our business. Genie gives a voice to all employees and represents issues across the gender spectrum as we support and engage with colleagues at all levels with the aim of creating an even more inclusive environment.
Pride is for lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer (LGBTQ+) colleagues and their allies. We welcome everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, who shares our aim of making Rolls-Royce SMR fully inclusive for the LGBTQ+ community. We do this by educating our people on how they can better support their LGBTQ+ colleagues; connecting and supporting LGBTQ+ colleagues to be their authentic selves; creating psychologically safe spaces; providing unique insights to help shape a more inclusive way of working; and by being a voice into the business to ensure LGBTQ+ representation.
Reach is our Inclusion Network that supports those of different religions, ethnicities and cultural heritage, and their allies. Our purpose is to empower racial, ethnic, religious and cultural minorities within the business and to make Rolls-Royce SMR an inclusive environment for all. We achieve this through providing a safe space and collective voice within the business, raising the profile of minority groups through awareness initiatives, and supporting in the attraction of diverse talent to our company.
