CEO
Chris became Group President at Rolls-Royce plc in March 2023. In this role, he is the CEO of Rolls-Royce SMR and has executive responsibility of Rolls-Royce Submarines and the wider Rolls-Royce nuclear endeavour. Prior to this role, Chris was president of |Rolls-Royce Plc Civil Aerospace business from March 2018 and president of the Defence business from 2015 to 2018. He has held engineering, programme and operational leadership positions in both the Civil Aerospace and Defence businesses and has worked closely with key airframe partners, airline customers and governments.
From 2012 to 2015 he ran an important part of the Rolls-Royce global supply chain operations, covering manufacturing plants, purchasing and strategy. From 2006 to early 2012, Chris led Civil Aerospace’s largest new product introduction and production programmes, including as Director of the Trent XWB programme where he achieved milestones up to the first engine flight. Before this, he held posts as Director – Boeing Programmes and Director – Airbus Production Programmes. Earlier, he was Director – Joint Strike Fighter in the Rolls-Royce Defence business, leading the programme which delivered the novel Rolls-Royce LiftSystem® for the Lockheed Martin F-35B.
Chris joined Rolls-Royce as an undergraduate in 1981 and graduated with a degree in Engineering Science from Oxford University. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Fellow of the Association of Project Management.
Operations and Supply Chain Director
Ruth has more than 35 years’ experience in senior roles within supply chain, procurement, operations and consultancy in a variety of private and public sector businesses and latterly in leading major programmes.
Ruth was a member of both the HS2 Executive Team and Board, as Chief Commercial Officer. She joined HS2 from the Covid-19 Vaccine Task Force where she led the programme to deliver coronavirus vaccines for the UK. Prior to this, she worked in defence for both the Submarine Delivery Agency and Babcock International.
Much of her career has been delivering transformation; leading teams through change. Ruth has a B Eng (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering, is a Six Sigma Black Belt and a Fellow of the Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
Director of Corporate and Government Affairs
Alastair has 15 years of Corporate Affairs and Government experience across the energy sector, notably with NuGeneration and Neptune Energy. Alastair has a legal background and experience working in Europe, North Africa and the Asia Pacific regions on a diverse set of policy and communications challenges. Alastair is responsible for public affairs, policy, communications, and investor relations.
Director Strategy and Business Development
Alan has spent 22 years at Rolls-Royce, across several senior roles and sectors including Marine, Defence, Power Systems and Corporate Strategy. Alan is responsible for growth of the Rolls-Royce SMR business covering market and customer development, creation of programme partnerships, and funding of both the Rolls-Royce SMR company as well as the strategy for creating future deployment funding options.
People Director
Previously, Clare led HR Business Partnering for Rolls-Royce SMR and has 27 years of experience as an HR practitioner. Before that, Clare worked at Ericsson, American Express and in a range of financial services and research and innovation businesses.
Clare will join the People Directorate at an extremely exciting and pivotal moment for Rolls Royce SMR as it focuses on delivery of its SMR power station in the UK and to countries around the world that are seeking to strengthen their energy security with a long-term, low-carbon solution.
Regulatory Affairs & Safety Director
Helena has nearly 20 years' experience in the regulatory and safety arena of the nuclear industry with companies such as Vattenfall, Westinghouse and Horizon. Helena brings with her a wealth of regulatory experience from different countries and technical areas, as well as UK specific Generic Design Assessments, and will lead on our regulatory and safety agenda.
Director of Internal Audit
Linda is a Chartered Public Finance Accountant who has worked across audit, advisory and forensic services for over 20 years. She was a member of the Senior Civil Service for the last five years; most recently as the Director of Internal Audit at the Department for Work & Pensions, alongside being an Executive Director of the Government Internal Audit Agency, which provides audit services to over 120 government bodies. Linda spent six years working in the UAE, with three of those providing in-house internal audit to the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, who developed and delivered the first civil nuclear power program within the UAE.
General Counsel
Peter has been a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright since 1994, having joined the practice in 1985. As the former nuclear energy and water groups lead, he brings decades of practical experience to the challenge of deploying nuclear power generation in the UK and overseas.
Peter is a member of the Technology and Construction Court Solicitors Association, an accredited adjudicator, and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is a past lecturer at the Centre of Construction Law and Management at Kings College, University of London and sits on the City of London Law Society Construction Law Sub Committee.
Chief Finance Officer
Peter joins us from Lockheed Martin, where he was the CFO for The Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE). AWE is responsible for the management and operation of elements of the UK’s Nuclear Deterrent capabilities on behalf of the UK Government. Peter previously held various Executive roles, including Merseyrail and Serco Assurance (a technical consulting business) and brings a proven track record of initiating and delivering strategic business change along with a strong financial and commercial capability, matched with a leadership approach based on driving for results through creating high performing teams.
Commercial Director
Sam joins us from Urenco Nuclear Stewardship (UNS), where he was Commercial Director and Board Member for Urenco’s subsidiary waste management, decommissioning and storage businesses. UNS provide services for a range of customers, delivering on operational nuclear licensed sites. Sam previously held commercial leadership roles in Deloitte, NuGen and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). At NuGen, Sam was accountable for development of the Moorside projects key contractual arrangements such as the Contract for Difference opposite UK Government and the EPC contract with its technology provider.
Engineering Director
David Dodd (MEng CEng MIMechE) is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Sheffield and a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience at Rolls Royce, working in a variety of systems design integration and senior engineering leadership roles across the Naval Nuclear, Civil Nuclear, Aerospace and Strategic Research areas of the company.
David’s previous roles have included: System Design Integration and Function Lead developing the next generation of naval nuclear propulsion plants; Manager of the Low Carbon Technology and subsequently Marine, Energy and Nuclear Strategic Research Centre of Rolls-Royce; Chief Design Engineer within the Rolls-Royce Civil Nuclear business and Sub-System Technical Lead developing the next generation control system design for the UltraFan Aero Engine.
David has been in a key leadership position on the Rolls-Royce SMR programme from its inception in 2015. David became the Chief Design Engineer for the Rolls-Royce SMR during the early phases of work and, following a period in the Aerospace business, returned to the Rolls-Royce SMR Programme in 2019 as Head of Engineering Integration.
David spent 2 years in the Chief Plant Engineer role, accountable for leading the design of the Rolls-Royce SMR across all areas of the power station, before taking up the Engineering Director position in 2024
Programme Director
Rich Wain (MChem, MSc, FRSC) is a Chemistry graduate from the University of Sheffield and also holds an MSc in Nuclear Science and Technology from the University of Manchester. Rich has over 25 years’ experience at Rolls-Royce, including 15 years in senior leadership roles across the Defence, Nuclear, Aerospace and Civil Nuclear areas of the company.
Rich joined Rolls-Royce SMR in 2016, with his previous position that of Chief Development Engineer, in which he was accountable for delivering an extensive programme of rig testing and experimental demonstrators. Rich is responsible for programme delivery across both design activities and project execution.
Chair
Sir Stephen brings a wealth of private sector and Government experience to his role as Chair of Rolls-Royce SMR.
Stephen was National Security Adviser from March 2021 to April 2022. Prior to this he was Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence from 2016-2021 and Permanent Secretary at the Department of Energy & Climate Change from 2013-2016.
Sir Stephen spent nine years at the Shareholder Executive, now UK Government Investments, where he was appointed Chief Executive in June 2007. He previously worked in investment banking and strategic consultancy. Stephen also sat on the board of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games and was a trustee of the Charities Aid Foundation.

Non-Executive Director
Anna Mascolo is Executive Vice President, Low Carbon Solutions at Shell. In leading Shell Low Carbon Solutions, Anna builds on her expertise in the energy sector, bringing customers with the greatest decarbonisation challenges together with solutions and products that can help reduce and manage the carbon emissions of the energy they use.
A physicist by background, Anna began her Shell career in 2004 as part of Shell’s Integrated Gas business in Europe, bringing external experience of trading, origination and deal structuring from roles in BG, Enron, TXU, and BHP Billiton. She subsequently held roles in Lubricants, Trading & Supply and Shell Chemicals before joining Global Commercial in 2019 as President of Shell Aviation, launching the sustainable fuels offering and positioning Shell as a clear sectoral leader in decarbonisation.
Following that, Anna became Senior Vice President for Acquisition, Divestments and New Business Development in Shell’s Downstream business, leading the restructure of the Downstream portfolio. And, most recently, was Executive Vice President of Shell Emerging Energy Solutions, where she helped bring together Shell’s Hydrogen, Carbon Capture and Storage, Nature-Based Solutions and Ventures businesses. Anna is a versatile, dynamic leader with an international perspective and world-leading experience in the energy sector. She thrives in meaningful roles where she can drive change by developing high-performing teams.
Anna is Shell’s representative on the CEO Board of the Hydrogen Council.
Rolls-Royce
Neil Fleming is the Rolls-Royce Group Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Director, based in London. He leads a team based in the UK and Germany with oversight of all M&A activity (including acquisitions, divestments, and joint ventures) across the Group.
Neil joined Rolls-Royce on 1 October 2022 with nearly two decades of global experience in M&A, strategy and partnerships across multiple sectors including energy, infrastructure, and industrial technology. Neil has previously served on the board of directors for several companies in the UK and Europe.
Constellation
As senior vice president, Commercialisation and Development, Jorge Acevedo is responsible for driving growth across Constellation’s customer and generation businesses through the development and deployment of innovative clean energy and technology solutions.
He is also responsible for Constellation’s R&D, venture investing, market development and commercial and generation strategy functions. Jorge oversees Constellation’s growth businesses including Constellation Energy Services, Constellation Navigator and Arise and Constellation’s broker channel. Jorge also sits on the boards of Constellation’s Technology Ventures portfolio companies.
Prior to his current role, Jorge was senior vice president, Generation Innovation and Strategy, and responsible for the strategic direction of Constellation’s commercial business, as well as its overall innovation strategy.
Jorge also served as senior vice president for Constellation’s Retail Strategy. In that role, he oversaw retail pricing, analytics, sales strategy and acquisitions, sales operations and dedicated support for Constellation’s power and gas business.
Jorge joined Exelon in 2002 and served in various roles, including vice president of finance for Constellation, where he oversaw the wholesale trading and retail business segments, financial forecasting, project analysis, performance indicators and financial reporting.
BNF Capital
Sean is a Director responsible for the investment portfolio of BNF Capital, a London based family office with significant investments in the energy sector. He is also the founder and CIO of Tees River Limited managing a dedicated Uranium fund and a Critical Resources fund. Sean has 21 years experience in the financial sector.
Qatar Investment Authority
Sheikh Faisal Bin Saoud Al Thani is the Head of Industrials and Materials at Qatar Investment Authority.
He joined QIA in May 2007 and has held various leadership roles such as the Head of Business Development Department, and member of Mergers and Acquisitions Department where he executed deals such as Harrods, Costa Smeralda, & Iberdrolla.
Sheikh Faisal is also the Chairman of Qatar Holding Smeralda Investment and a Board Member in Wessal Capital (Morocco).
He has a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration & Finance from California State University Dominguez Hills and he was enrolled in Harvard Leadership Program in 2014 /2015.
Rolls-Royce
Will is General Counsel - Corporate at Rolls-Royce plc and leads a number of Group teams, including Group Legal, Security & Resilience, ESG, Compliance, Data Privacy and Strategic Export Control.
Since joining Rolls-Royce in 2006, Will has acted as lead advisor on a number of complex international matters and group projects as well as leading on a number of business transformation and improvement projects. He was appointed to the Civil Aerospace leadership team in 2017 as Chief Counsel and led a global team of 160 specialising in law, compliance, risk and commercial transactions. Prior to joining Rolls-Royce, Will worked as an M&A lawyer in an international law firm and as UK counsel for a large European FMCG business.
Will is a qualified Solicitor with 23 years’ practice experience. He is an active member of the UK in-house legal community regularly speaking on matters of importance to the legal profession and has published articles in key legal publications.
President of Defence; Chairman & CEO – Rolls-Royce North America
Adam has spent nearly a decade in Rolls-Royce’s Defence business and played a pivotal role in the recent success of the business, most recently leading its global services operations.
In his previous role as Director of Strategy & Future Programmes, he was instrumental in the business securing strategically important long-term contracts with both the US Air Force and US Army.
Prior to Rolls-Royce, Adam worked within defence operations of Boeing. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point, and served as an Armor Officer in the US Army.
Chief Strategy Officer, Rolls-Royce
Dominic has recently been appointed as Chief Strategy Officer for Rolls-Royce to lead Group strategy. Previous to this role, as Services Director - Civil Aerospace, he was responsible for programme and services delivery to Rolls-Royce’s airline customers across all engines (including the Trent family), operational performance of the global MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) network, and leadership of the Civil Aerospace airline aftermarket P&L.
In previous roles, he has been Chief Customer Officer of Civil Aerospace with responsibility for leading sales of engines and services, marketing and customer service delivery in all airlines across the world, Director – Boeing Programmes where he led the Civil Aerospace engine programmes for all Boeing airplanes, and EVP Transmissions & Structures leading both a global design and make supply chain and Rolls-Royce manufacturing plants.
Dominic first joined Rolls-Royce as an undergraduate trainee in 1990. Dominic graduated in Engineering from Cambridge University.
