Rolls-Royce SMR is delighted to announce that its Chairman, Paul Stein, has been awarded a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for services to British enterprise as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Paul became Chair of Rolls-Royce SMR, the company developing a Small Modular Reactor power station which will generate 470MW of low-carbon electricity, in January 2022. Prior to this, Paul was the Chief Technology Officer of Rolls-Royce plc.

Tom Samson, Rolls-Royce SMR CEO, said: “On behalf of the whole of Rolls-Royce SMR, I would like to extend the warmest congratulations to Paul for this thoroughly deserved recognition. Paul is a fantastic representative and advocate for Rolls-Royce SMR, and he has been instrumental in driving our business forward in developing a technology that can offer clean, affordable power from a sustainable source.”

Paul Stein CBE added: “This a great honour and I feel humbled by the award. I’ve been privileged to work with great people during my period in senior leadership at Rolls-Royce and more latterly as Chairman of Rolls-Royce SMR. Many people who receive such recognition say they feel they’re really taking the award for the team, and I very much feel that too.”
