Morson are working exclusively with Rolls Royce SMR (Small Modular Reactors) to recruit a Lead Systems Integration Engineer , who will play a pivotal role in the development and engineering of SMR technology through a complex lifecycle.

The Post
Reporting to the Systems Engineering Capability Manager, the Lead Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for driving consistent adoption of model based systems engineering (MBSE) and interface management within RR SMR Ltd engineering activities. This will involve both definition of systems engineering approaches to design, and support of their implementation by others. A significant proportion of the role will focus on technical interface management, reflecting the importance of this topic for RR SMR Ltd. This will involve detailed extensive technical engagement with a range of design teams to understand, agree and appropriately document interface detail. At times the Lead Systems Engineer will have to facilitate debate and influence discussion such that an appropriate solution is defined in line with the best interests of the project, and in line with approaches agreed in other situations. They will act as a primary point of contact on the subject of technical interface management, collaborating with all engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate development of MBSE methods within RR SMR Ltd, including integration with other tools.
Champion MBSE approach to design.
Coordinate technical interface management across the power station design, engaging with design teams to ensure that the interface management process is understood and is being appropriately implemented and recorded.
Hands on’ support to design teams on MBSE and interface management topics, as necessary, to ensure consistent implementation.
Develop and deliver training associated with MBSE and interface management topics.
Perform independent reviews to validate designs and monitor and measure process adherence through appropriate metrics.
Connect people and information across design silos.

Qualifications & Experience
Degree level qualification in engineering or science discipline.
Chartered Engineer / Scientist / Systems Engineering Professional, or actively working toward professional registration.

Travel: Contracted location of work is in Warrington/Derby although we operate a hybrid working policy allowing you to work remotely with the agreement of your leader, though may require some travel within the working day when visiting other branches or organisations.
Working hours: 37.5 hrs per week are standard office hours with some overtime as required.
